The role's primary responsibilities involve bartending duties within the beverage department, requiring the candidate to follow proper procedures for register transactions, par stock management, and compliance with laws relating to the service of alcoholic beverages. The selected candidate will manage bar setup and clearing, monitor and train novice bartenders, and keep abreast of current hotel events and the operating hours of food and beverage outlets. The position demands the ability to consistently pour up to 240 drinks per hour and accurately prepare specialty drink recipes provided by the Beverage Manager. Maintaining accountability for all funds at the bar, including cash and slot banks exceeding $1,000, is also crucial. Proper handling of transactions like comps, room charges, credit cards, and checks is expected, along with meticulous record-keeping such as cash turn-in sheets and voids.

A safe and sanitary workplace must be maintained at all times, and the candidate is expected to provide courteous and friendly service to all guests and team members. This role requires excellent communication skills, basic math ability, and a positive disposition that embraces having fun at work and sharing that spirit with guests. Candidates must be proficient with Micros point-of-sale systems and possess the necessary certificates such as the Clark County Health Card and Alcohol Awareness Card. Educationally, a high school diploma or GED is required, along with at least one year of previous bartending experience.

Job Duties

  • Follow proper register transaction procedures
  • Adhere to the proper par stock procedures
  • Have a complete understanding of all applicable laws and regulations concerning service of alcoholic beverages (as directed by Beverage Department)
  • Complete and oversee set-up and clearing of the bar area
  • Monitor and train novice bartenders as dictated by management
  • Remain up-to-date on hotel current events and the hours of operation of all food and beverage outlets
  • Pour up to 240 drinks per hour consistently
  • Read and follow specialty drink recipes as prepared by Beverage Manager
  • Garnish all cocktails from the bar area
  • Maintain consistent and appropriate accountability for all moneys at the bar
  • Manage cash banks and slot banks exceeding $1,000
  • Handle comps, room charges, credit cards, officers checks, and coupons properly
  • Complete cash turn-in sheets, voids, with appropriate distribution
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary workplace
  • Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests and team members
  • Perform related work as requested
