The Bartender role at Kassie Beach House requires an individual who can consistently deliver an outstanding customer experience while skillfully preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests and cocktail servers. This position involves interacting warmly and professionally with guests, assessing their preferences to make personalized drink recommendations, and ensuring all beverage preparation complies with the highest standards of quality and cleanliness as set by the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD). Daily responsibilities include preparing the bar for service, maintaining cleanliness and hygienic standards throughout the shift, and restocking supplies. The bartender must also handle monetary transactions accurately, operate the POS system efficiently, and participate in routine health and safety compliance measures including maintaining an active Food Handler's card. Beyond drink preparation, the bartender plays a crucial role in enhancing the guest experience by offering local insights about the property and the city, promoting a professional and respectful work atmosphere among staff, and collaborating closely with back-of-house and front-of-house teams. Candidates should be adaptable, embody a great attitude, and demonstrate unwavering integrity and work ethic. Job Requirements
- Current, legal and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
- Must be 21 years of age
- High school or equivalent education required
- Food Service Handler Card and TABC certification that is currently valid for a minimum of at least 6 months
- Preferred: 1-2 years experience in a full-service restaurant or lounge
- Familiarity with superior customer service skills required
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and written
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of and ability to mix a wide variety of drinks
- Skills and abilities typically acquired through five years bartending or similar experience, or through progressive promotion and training within the Beverage department
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
Job Duties
- Meet Kassi Beach House standards regarding cleanliness as dictated by the SNHD
- Prep the bar daily, maintain it during the shift and clean it nightly in preparation for the next shift
- Maintain a clean, hygienic and organized work environment including stocking of supplies, washing and polishing glassware, folding napkins, cleaning menus, sanitizing tables, etc.
- Stock the bar as necessary in accordance with company guidelines regarding liquor requisition
- Adhere to company standards regarding food and beverage knowledge
- Orchestrate an extraordinary guest experience through positive guest interaction
- Be able to guide guests through aspects of our property and our city
- Ensure that guests are of legal drinking age by asking for an appropriate ID card
- Handle a cash bank and adhere to company policies regarding money handling
- Accurately enter all items into POS system and charge guests accordingly
- Comply with sanitation standards and notify management of any issues
- Utilize the communication channels set in place and be up to date on all aspects of service, safety, and operation protocols and procedures
- Work with leadership to identify and limit waste and to promote efficient productivity
- Exercise professionalism and respect when communicating. Know each other’s names
- Maintain your work schedule, daily time-punches, and sign-ins to ensure accuracy of timecards
- Adhere to all house policies and standards
- Promote a professional and respectful work atmosphere between all staff members
- Perform proper changeover, opening, and closing duties
- Maintain accountability to kitchen standards, set prep recipes and performance procedures
- Follow all prep recipes and procedures and successfully perform these duties as assigned and/or reassigned by leadership
- Participate in seamless operation between BOH + FOH staff members ensuring proper service to our guests
- Perform to high standards of excellence, execution, and cleanliness
- Always keep your active SNHD Food Handler’s card with you while on property
- Execute proper health and safety protocols while operating equipment, handling food, storing food, maintaining temperature & time control logs, and sanitizing as dictated by the SNHD
- Report health and safety incidents and concerns directly to leadership in an accurate and timely manner
- Contribute to successful SNHD health inspections
- Weekly requirement to post/share digital marketing on social media accounts as provided by Kassi Marketing
- Other duties as assigned
