We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Bartender and Server to join our team at Spare Time Entertainment. This role is pivotal in delivering outstanding guest experiences by expertly serving food and beverages and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. As a Bartender and Server, the successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with guests using Spare Time Entertainment’s Steps of Service to ensure each visit exceeds expectations. A thorough knowledge of menus is essential, allowing for confident recommendations and upselling. The role requires the ability to mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks following established recipes and pouring guidelines, ensuring quality and consistency. Additionally, this position involves light food preparation, assisting with table setup and cleanliness, and busing tables, all while adhering to rigorous food safety and quality standards.
The candidate will be expected to patrol their assigned section attentively, addressing guest needs promptly and effectively. Monitoring alcohol consumption responsibly by verifying guests’ identification and following all relevant policies and laws is a key responsibility, requiring vigilance and integrity. The ability to efficiently operate the POS system for processing transactions, providing accurate bills, and handling payments is also necessary. Documentation skills are important as well, including completing shift paperwork and performing opening and closing duties to maintain smooth operations.
Maintaining clean and organized workstations and equipment in line with health codes is critical, along with restocking supplies and controlling waste to support a sustainable working environment. The role also requires maintaining current certifications provided by the company or mandated by state regulations. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Prior experience in hospitality preferred
- Must pass background check and drug screening
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in bartending or serving preferred
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage menus
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to follow recipes and prepare drinks accurately
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Valid state certifications related to alcohol service preferred
Job Duties
- Serve guests utilizing Spare Time Entertainment’s Steps of Service
- Demonstrate knowledge of all menus with the ability to make suggestions
- Promote knowledge of the location’s features and upcoming events
- Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks for patrons of the bar and dining room following standard recipes and pouring guidelines
- Observe and assist in preparing unoccupied tables for guests by wiping surface top, removing debris, and ensure seats are clean and orderly
- Bus tables in the restaurant area and return used dishes to the dishwashing area
- Help with food preparation when necessary
- Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations
- Assist with waste control
- Patrol assigned section to respond to guest’s needs and take action to correct any concerns
- Always review guest’s identification and monitor alcohol consumption adhering strictly to Spare Time Entertainment Policy, state policy, and local law
- Confidently operate the POS System making accurate transactions while ringing orders, providing guests their bill, collecting payments, and making change
- Provide all required complimentary shift paperwork with settlement in a consistent and organized manner
- Complete shift opening and closing duties
- Maintain clean equipment and working areas by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs and in accordance with Local, State, and Federal Health Department Codes
- Keep products and areas organized and restocked as needed
- Maintain current certifications required by state and those offered by Spare Time Entertainment
