The Le Meridien Indianapolis is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Bartender to join the team at Spoke and Steele. This role offers an exciting opportunity for bartenders who are not only skilled in mixology but who also possess leadership abilities and a commitment to customer service excellence. The Bartender role at Spoke and Steele includes assisting the Lead Bartender with various operational tasks such as ordering, receiving, stocking, and maintaining appropriate par levels of bar supplies including dry goods, fruits, mixers, and purees. This position plays a critical role in preparing high-quality cocktails and beverages, adhering strictly to Indiana and Federal laws governing alcohol service.

In addition to mixing drinks, the Bartender is responsible for maintaining beverage systems and assisting Food and Beverage Supervisors in training new staff members, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. A deep knowledge of craft cocktails and wine presentation is essential, along with an interest in expanding skills in craft zero-proof beverage offerings. Familiarity with manual espresso machines is considered an advantage.

Strong customer service skills and the ability to engage with guests warmly yet professionally are vital. Candidates must have an Indiana alcohol server permit and demonstrate a dedication to maintaining the high standards of service expected at a luxury hotel setting. The position requires weekend and holiday availability to support operations from 6am to midnight, every day of the year.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, perform activities such as pushing, bending, stooping, and reaching, as well as good manual dexterity for efficient drink preparation. Job Duties

  • Assist Lead Bartender as needed in ordering, receiving, stocking and maintaining par levels for bar supplies/dry goods/fruits/mixers/purees/etc
  • Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks for guests and the service bar
  • Ensure that food and beverages being served are of high quality and properly presented
  • Assist in maintaining beverage systems
  • Assist Food and Beverage Supervisors in training new staff
  • Understand and enforce Indiana and Federal laws and regulations regarding food and liquor sales
