Job Description

The DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport Convention Center is a renowned hospitality establishment strategically located just south of Miami International Airport, off the Dolphin Expressway, adjacent to the Blue Lagoon Business District. This prestigious hotel offers a blend of comfort, convenience, and style, featuring 334 elegantly appointed guestrooms designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers. Guests have access to a variety of top-notch amenities such as onsite dining options that cater to diverse culinary preferences, a fully equipped fitness room for health-conscious patrons, an inviting outdoor pool for relaxation, and a comprehensive business center to support professional needs. Additionally, the hotel boasts 24,000 square feet of retail space along with 20,000 square feet dedicated to hotel meeting and function spaces. The DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport Convention Center is currently seeking an experienced bartender to become a vital part of their dynamic Food & Beverage team. This full-time, on-site position offers a competitive pay rate of $10.98 per hour plus tips, reinforcing the company’s commitment to recognizing skill and dedication. Reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Manager, the bartender plays an essential role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by providing timely, friendly, and accurate beverage services in accordance with the hotel's high standards.

In this role, the bartender is responsible for preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks following the restaurant’s standard recipes to ensure consistency and quality. The position requires excellent communication skills to effectively take beverage orders not only from guests but also from servers, facilitating seamless service. Furthermore, the bartender will be expected to develop rapport with regular patrons by learning their names and preferences, thereby enhancing guest satisfaction and loyalty.

Operational duties include recording drink orders immediately and accurately into the register system, processing payments including cash and credit card transactions, and performing essential bar maintenance such as washing and sterilizing glassware. The role also involves preparing garnishes, replenishing snacks and appetizers at the bar, and maintaining an attractive and efficient setup of bottles and glassware to support smooth preparation and promotion of beverages.

Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in all bar areas including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage spaces is critical to this role. The bartender will also be responsible for delivering food orders to guests seated at the bar and reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the restaurant manager to ensure uninterrupted service.

Additional responsibilities include assisting with restocking and replenishing bar inventory and supplies and being flexible to fill in as needed to guarantee the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant. This position requires the ability to stand for long periods and occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force, making physical stamina and endurance essential.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior bartending or related hospitality experience preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • availability to work on-site full time

  • familiarity with point of sale systems

  • basic math competency
  • must be at least 18 years old

Job Qualifications

  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests
  • have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes
  • possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register
  • be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish

Job Duties

  • Take beverage orders from guests and servers
  • prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the restaurant’s standard drink recipes
  • learn the names and personally recognize regulars
  • record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system
  • accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change if applicable
  • wash and sterilize glassware
  • prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks, appetizers for bar patrons
  • maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
  • clear and reset tables in bar area
  • present drink menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages
  • maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas
  • receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar
  • report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager
  • assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies
  • be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
