The role at PENN Entertainment involves working as a bartender within their casino operations. This position requires a friendly, professional, and efficient approach to beverage service, with an emphasis on exceptional customer engagement and adherence to safety and quality guidelines. The bartender will not only be responsible for preparing and serving drinks according to strict recipes and proper portioning but will also be an ambassador of the company’s goodwill. They will actively promote casino events and provide personalized service by using guests' names, enhancing the overall customer experience. The scope of responsibilities includes monitoring guest alcohol consumption, resolving service problems, and collaborating closely with beverage servers and supervisors. The job demands the capability to work swiftly, ensuring drink orders are fulfilled within a rapid production cycle, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, operating point-of-sale systems accurately, and handling cash transactions with integrity. Working in a sometimes crowded, noisy casino environment, the successful candidate must be physically capable and adaptable to work under fast-paced and potentially stressful conditions. This position requires compliance with all professional appearance standards, safety procedures, and legal requirements, including successful completion of the ServSafe Alcohol training certification course and being at least 21 years of age. Job Requirements

high school diploma or equivalent
must successfully complete ServSafe Alcohol training certification course
read, write legibly, understand and speak English
excellent customer service and communication skills
count money and change correctly
knows cocktail ingredients and proper mixing and pouring techniques
available to work required schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy
must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodation
must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
able to work in constricting areas
able to tolerate second-hand smoke, noise and bright lights
able to work at a fast pace in often crowded and noisy environment

Job Duties

Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines
serves as ambassador of goodwill while working and at customer and public relations functions
appears in publicity photos
promotes casino events and programs
provides personalized service and uses guest name
resolves service problems according to guidelines
provides fast, friendly, professional beverage service to casino guests and beverage servers with a 2 minute or less production cycle for 15 drink tray
prepares and pours drink orders with proper portions and ingredients according to recipe
communicates with beverage servers and presents drinks to guests or servers
slices and pits fruit as required
operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures
operates a cash register/POS system ringing correct amounts and giving change
accounts for all cash, charge and complimentary sales according to established procedures
maintains integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities
works well with others including beverage servers, bartenders, barbacks, beverage supervisor, and slots supervisor
maintains a clean and stocked workstation in accordance with established health and safety guidelines
