Job Description

Located just a few miles from the breathtaking Rocky Mountain National Park, in the vibrant town of Estes Park, the Stanley Hotel stands as an iconic landmark cherished for its rich history and cultural significance. Founded by F.O. Stanley, this legendary hotel is famously recognized for its role in the 1980 horror classic, The Shining, and proudly holds a place on the National Register of Historic Places. The Stanley Hotel is more than just a hotel; it is a destination composed of multiple buildings, beautifully designed gardens, a unique hedge maze, renowned restaurants, and expansive grounds that together create a captivating experience for visitors. This property attracts tourists, history buffs, and paranormal enthusiasts alike, offering a blend of luxury, mystique, and Colorado charm.

As an establishment deeply rooted in tradition yet committed to excellence, the Stanley Hotel maintains high standards of service and guest satisfaction. It provides a welcoming environment where guests can enjoy not only the comfort of upscale lodging but also the exceptional hospitality provided by its dedicated staff. With its grand architecture, historical significance, and scenic location, the hotel is a premier venue for leisure travelers, special events, and corporate gatherings.

The role offered is for a Bartender at this esteemed establishment. This position plays a crucial part in enhancing guest experiences by providing outstanding beverage service within the bar area. The Bartender is responsible for all aspects of bar operations, including set-up, mixing drinks, serving guests and cocktail servers, and cleaning the bar area while upholding quality service and guest satisfaction. The position demands adherence to company guidelines and policies regarding beverage and safety controls, including compliance with state liquor laws.

Bartenders at the Stanley Hotel are expected to operate professionally and courteously, maintaining cordial interactions with guests and ensuring that all sales transactions such as ringing guest checks, collecting cash, and processing credits or room charges are handled accurately and according to company procedures. The role also involves maintaining inventory through the completion of liquor requisitions and supply lists and guaranteeing that established par levels are met. Additionally, Bartenders must execute sidework duties according to scheduled expectations to ensure smooth bar operations.

This position requires individuals who are highly organized and capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment. Given the hotel's busy atmosphere, multitasking skills and the ability to remain attentive to detail amid noise and crowds are essential. Physical demands include prolonged standing, lifting and carrying items weighing between 20 and 100 pounds, bending, kneeling, and navigating narrow spaces. The Bartender must possess a valid bartending certification, including TIPS certification, and have at least six months of bartending experience. Since serving alcoholic beverages is involved, candidates must be at least 21 years of age.

The role offers an hourly wage of USD $12.14 and includes a comprehensive benefits package. These benefits comprise medical, dental, and vision insurance; health savings and flexible spending accounts; life insurance; paid vacation, sick time, and holidays; participation in the company’s 401(k) program with employer matching; employee assistance and referral programs; tuition reimbursement; free on-site parking; and exclusive discounts on hotels, restaurants, and more. This career opportunity at the Stanley Hotel promises not only competitive compensation but also a chance to work within a historic venue in one of Colorado's premier tourist destinations, thereby enhancing one’s career in hospitality while delivering memorable experiences to guests.
