The Cleveland Metroparks, a renowned regional park system dedicated to conservation, education, and recreation, is seeking a skilled and personable Bartender to join their team. Operating in a seasonal capacity from May through October, this role is integral to providing guests with a friendly, efficient, and enjoyable experience at the park's bar locations. Job Requirements
- Must be age 21 or older
- prior bartending experience required
- must complete Serve-Safe program after hire
- knowledge of cocktails and drink recipes
- ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders
- ability to speak and write clearly using correct grammar
- ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization
- ability to work cooperatively with others
- ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior bartending experience required
- knowledge of cocktails and drink recipes
- ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with employees and the public
- strong communication skills including speaking and writing clearly, concisely and persuasively
- ability to perform work with accuracy and organization
- ability to work cooperatively with others
- ability to perform duties with independence and initiative
Job Duties
- Greets guests and takes beverage orders from servers or directly from guests
- mixes drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages according to company standards
- checks identification of guests to verify age requirements for alcohol purchase
- collects payment for drinks and follows cash handling procedures
- works with Bar Manager to equip the bar area and prepare inventory or purchase orders
- serves snacks or food items where appropriate
- demonstrates thorough knowledge of food, beverage products, menus and promotions
- maintains cleanliness of bar area including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting and wiping
- provides guidance on Cleveland Metroparks activities and regional information
- keeps supervisor informed of key issues or concerns
- carries out duties in a safe and efficient manner ensuring a safe work environment
- performs related duties as assigned
