The Bartender role at DraftKings Sports & Social Troy is central to the venue's goal of delivering exceptional customer service and memorable guest experiences. This position requires an energetic, outgoing, and fun personality combined with professionalism to engage and delight patrons. Bartenders will be responsible for preparing and serving drinks accurately according to established recipes, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, and ensuring an efficient service pace even during high volume periods. The position demands excellent communication skills, as bartenders will frequently interact with guests, serving staff, and management to ensure smooth operations and a welcoming atmosphere.
Bartenders not only mix drinks but also play a key role in creating an inviting social environment through friendly interactions and product knowledge. They are expected to promote current specials and menu offerings, check identification to comply with legal drinking age regulations, and handle all transactions accurately following company policies. The role also involves completing assigned side work that supports overall bar operations and maintaining health and safety standards.

Job Requirements
- Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds (bar ware, boxes, bottles, etc)
- Moving about the bar, lounge, and kitchen efficiently and safely
- Handling food, objects, products and utensils effectively and safely
- Bending, standing, stooping, kneeling
- At least 1-2 years experience with bartending at high volume bars and/or nightclubs
- Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments
- Formal bartending training preferred
- Must meet state legal age requirements
- Must speak fluent English
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency
- Reading and writing abilities
- Mathematical skills, including basic math
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
Job Qualifications

- Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc
- Mathematical skills, including basic math are used frequently
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
Job Duties
- Provide an energetic, outgoing, fun personality while maintaining professionalism
- Perform varied duties to ensure all aspects of the proper steps of service
- Offer polite, professional, and courteous customer service
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and guests
- Mix ingredients and prepare cocktails and other drinks according to drink recipe
- Serve wine, and bottled or draft beer
- Take beverage orders from serving staff or from guests
- Communicate effectively, clearly, patiently and humorously with co-workers and guests
- Complete all side work as assigned
- Be well-versed in the products in order to guide the guest experience and sell food and beverage items
- Check guests' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption
- Present and encourage current promotions to guests
- Accurately record and account for all items ordered and secure payment from guest
- Accurately account for all sales and receipts and record tips as outlined in company policies and procedures
