Job Requirements
- At least 1 year food & beverage experience preferred
- At least 1 year bartending experience preferred
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must possess valid TIPS card upon hire
- Must possess valid Food Handler’s card upon hire
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Job Qualifications
- At least 1 year food & beverage experience preferred
- At least 1 year bartending experience preferred
- Must possess valid TIPS card upon hire
- Must possess valid Food Handler’s card upon hire
- Knowledge of POS systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Maintain a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction
- Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other beverages according to recipe
- Maintain cleanliness of walk-ins and reach-ins
- Adhere to all TIPS, Food Handlers and CPR standards and Hotel Polaris policies
- Ensure cleanliness of bar and glassware
- Take food and beverages orders, using POS system to ring items in
- Ensure opening, ongoing and closing sidework is complete
- Count money in cash drawers at end of shift to ensure the amounts are correct and there is adequate change
- Ensure end of shift bank is balanced with appropriate procedures followed in daily drop
- Obtain credit cards or room information to begin tabs
- Must ensure bookkeeping and proper payment is received
- Maintain seasonal liquor, beer and wine pars
- Properly reports tips and hours at the end of each shift using the proper documents for recording
- Ensure supplies/ingredients are properly stocked before, during and after shift
- Check identification to verify age requirements for alcohol purchase/consumption
- Offer menu advice and suggestions to guests
- Maintain a strong knowledge of wine, beer and spirit trends
