Job Description
The Ritz-Carlton is a globally recognized luxury hotel brand, renowned for delivering exceptional guest experiences and setting the standard for rare and special luxury service around the world. As a part of Marriott International's portfolio of brands, The Ritz-Carlton prides itself on fostering a culture of creativity, thoughtfulness, and compassion among its team members, known as the Ritz-Carlton Ladies and Gentlemen. With more than 100 award-winning properties worldwide, the brand attracts top hospitality professionals dedicated to curating lifelong memories for their guests through impeccable service and attention to detail. Marriott International is committed to equal opportunity employment and values the diverse backgrounds, talents, and experiences of its associates. The company embraces inclusivity and non-discrimination across various protected bases, including disability and veteran status, and seeks to provide an environment where every team member can thrive and contribute to the shared success of the organization.
The role available at The Ritz-Carlton is that of a Bartender, a vital position that directly contributes to delivering the highest quality guest service as outlined in the brand's renowned Gold Standards. The Bartender is responsible for preparing drink orders according to specified recipes, ensuring consistency and excellence in every beverage served. This includes issuing, opening, and serving wine and champagne bottles professionally. The position requires maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the bar and all related tools and areas, such as tables and bar units, to create an inviting environment for guests. Bartenders prepare fresh garnishes to complement drinks, stock necessary supplies like ice, glassware, and paper products, and manage the transport of supplies to the bar setup area.
In addition to beverage preparation, Bartenders handle all aspects of payment processing, including counting the bank at the end of shifts, completing cashier reports, resolving discrepancies, dropping off receipts, and securing the bank. Securing alcoholic beverages and other items in storage areas is a crucial responsibility that helps maintain compliance with safety and security policies. The Bartender plays an integral role in following all company safety procedures, reporting accidents or unsafe conditions to management, completing required safety training, and upholding a professional personal appearance.
Guest interaction is an essential component of the role, requiring Bartenders to welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate and meet their service needs, and express genuine appreciation for their patronage. Strong communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with both guests and coworkers are necessary attributes. Bartenders must also be physically capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, handling objects up to 50 pounds, and moving through varied environments including narrow or uneven spaces.
This inviting and dynamic work environment encourages teamwork, mutual respect, and ongoing development aligned with The Ritz-Carlton’s Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values. Joining the team means becoming part of a prestigious global brand where you have the opportunity to be proud of the work you do and of the people you work with, while growing professionally and personally. This full-time role does not require supervisory experience or specific certification but does prefer at least one year of related work experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. The position emphasizes adherence to quality standards and offers the chance to be part of a celebrated hospitality culture dedicated to excellence and guest satisfaction.
