The Bartender role at FCG CityLine is a highly interactive and responsible position that plays a critical part in the restaurant's success. The bartender is charged with providing outstanding service, efficiently managing the bar, and ensuring every Customer receives a memorable experience from the moment they arrive until their departure. This includes knowing the food menu in depth, understanding beverage selections specifically beers, wines, spirits and specials, and utilizing strong salesmanship skills to enhance customer satisfaction and maximize sales.

Bartenders at FCG CityLine are expected to maintain a clean and organized bar area, manage beverage stock effectively, and adhere strictly to all company policies, as well as federal, state, and local laws concerning alcohol service. Beyond just mixing drinks, the role is about creating a warm and engaging environment where guests feel appreciated and valued. Bartenders support the team by handling to-go orders, assisting servers, and contributing to overall restaurant operations including cash handling and responding effectively to customer feedback.

This role demands someone with a positive attitude, a willingness to do whatever it takes to provide excellent service, and the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment. Physical endurance is also important, as bartenders will spend the majority of their shift standing, walking, reaching, and lifting. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least the minimum age required to serve alcohol by applicable state law
  • able to spend 100 percent of working time standing, walking, and reaching
  • able to push, pull, and lift objects frequently including loads greater than 50 pounds
  • capable of maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling
  • able to climb and descend ladders, stairs, and ramps
  • clear communication skills in the primary language of the restaurant
  • ability to hear sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction
  • specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Job Qualifications

  • High school degree or GED preferred
  • 1 to 3 years’ bartending experience in a food and beverage environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor
  • proficiency in free-pouring to recipe and specification
  • good reading, writing, mathematical, and communication skills
  • ability to interact professionally with customers and team members
  • ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • good judgment and decision-making abilities

Job Duties

  • verify that all customers purchasing alcohol are at least 21 years old
  • answer telephone in a friendly and upbeat manner
  • take and manage to-go orders
  • adhere to cash handling policies
  • assist servers by running drinks to tables
  • encourage customers to sit in the bar area
  • stock glassware, ice, and garnishes
  • complete opening, ongoing, and closing sidework
  • maintain a safe and sanitary environment
  • notify manager of all customer complaints
  • remain calm at all times
  • perform other tasks as assigned by management
