Job Description

The role advertised is a server/bartender position at Spare Time Entertainment, which requires an individual dedicated to enhancing guests' experiences through excellent service. This is a role that involves interacting with customers, offering knowledgeable suggestions on menu items and beverages, and maintaining the highest standards of food and drink preparation. It encompasses following the company's specific service standards known as the Spare Time Service Standards (Code S.E.R.V.E.) and the Steps of Service used throughout Spare Time Entertainment venues. This position is customer-centric, demanding exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment.

As part of the responsibilities, the server/bartender will be mixing, garnishing, and serving both alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks following standard recipes and company pouring guidelines while strictly adhering to legal and company policies regarding alcohol service. They will be responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction by anticipating needs, answering questions about menus and events, and maintaining clean and orderly dining and bar areas. The role also includes light food preparation, bussing tables, handling payments and POS transactions, and performing opening and closing duties. Employees are expected to monitor guest identification carefully, recognize signs of intoxication, and take appropriate action in compliance with company policy and local laws. This job requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members.

Possessing SERVSafe and/or TIPS certification is preferred or required by state regulation. The work environment includes potential noise levels and lighting effects typical of entertainment venues, and employees must be comfortable working in settings with large crowds as well as children. The physical demands include the ability to stand and walk for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds. The position often involves working long hours and frequent weekend shifts.   • 2+ years previous waitstaff and/or bartending experience preferred

Job Duties

  • serve guests utilizing Spare Time Entertainment’s Steps of Service
  • demonstrate knowledge of all menus with the ability to make suggestions
  • promote knowledge of the location’s features and upcoming events
  • mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks following standard recipes and company pouring guidelines
  • observe and assist in preparing unoccupied tables for guests
  • bus tables and return used dishes to dishwashing area
  • help with food preparation when necessary
  • adhere to all food safety and quality regulations
  • assist with waste control
  • patrol assigned section to respond to guest’s needs and resolve concerns
  • review guests’ identification and monitor alcohol consumption according to policy and law
  • recognize signs of intoxication and take appropriate actions
  • confidently operate POS system for transactions
  • provide required shift paperwork and settlements consistently
  • complete shift opening and closing duties
  • maintain clean equipment and working areas according to health department codes
  • keep products and areas organized and restocked
  • communicate inventory shortages to supervisor
  • maintain current certifications required by state and company
  • report company violations to management
  • perform other assigned duties
