The role of a Bartender/Waitstaff at Spare Time Entertainment is integral to maintaining the high standards of service that define the brand. This position is responsible for a wide range of duties that involve direct guest interaction, including taking and serving orders, mixing beverages to exact specifications, and ensuring a clean and inviting environment. The individual in this role must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the menu items and beverages, being able to provide recommendations to enhance the guest experience. The Bartender/Waitstaff also plays an important role in upholding all safety and regulatory standards, including responsible alcohol service and adherence to health codes. This role demands multitasking and attention to detail, as well as the ability to respond swiftly to guest needs and concerns.

In addition to serving guests, Bartender/Waitstaff team members assist in food preparation and maintain cleanliness in the dining and bar areas. This job requires the ability to confidently use POS systems to provide seamless transaction processing and manage shifts with consistency in paperwork and operational duties. Employees in this position frequently work in a fast-paced environment that can be loud and visually stimulating, interacting with diverse groups including children and large crowds. Physically, the job demands extended periods of standing, walking, and the ability to lift items up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • 2+ years previous waitstaff or bartending experience preferred
  • SERVSafe and/or TIPS certification preferred or required if mandated by the state

Job Duties

  • Interact professionally by using Spare Time Service Standards (Code S.E.R.V.E.)
  • serve guests utilizing Spare Time Entertainment’s Steps of Service
  • demonstrate knowledge of all menus with the ability to make suggestions
  • promote knowledge of the location’s features and upcoming events
  • mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks following standard recipes and guidelines
  • observe and assist in preparing unoccupied tables for guests
  • bus tables and return used dishes
  • help with food preparation when necessary
  • adhere to all food safety and quality regulations
  • assist with waste control
  • patrol assigned section to respond to guests’ needs and correct concerns
  • review guest’s identification and monitor alcohol consumption
  • recognize signs of intoxication and take appropriate actions
  • operate POS system accurately
  • provide all required complimentary shift paperwork and settlements
  • complete shift opening and closing duties
  • maintain clean equipment and working areas following health codes
  • keep products and areas organized and restocked
  • communicate inventory shortages to supervisor
  • maintain required certifications
  • report company violations to management
  • perform other assigned duties
