The bartender role at our hotel is pivotal in enhancing the guest experience at our dining and bar outlets. This full-time position involves preparing and serving alcoholic beverages swiftly and accurately while adhering to the highest standards of quality and presentation. Beyond mixing drinks according to standard recipes, the bartender is responsible for verifying guest age compliance with liquor laws, ensuring responsible service, and maintaining an organized, sanitary bar area. Job Requirements
- Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
- High school diploma or GED
- Certification in alcohol awareness
- Ability to lift and transport at least 50 pounds
- Ability to push or pull carts or equipment up to 150 pounds
- Ability to stand and move continuously for up to 8 hours
- Endure variable temperature and noise levels in indoor and outdoor settings
- Must wear flat, closed-toe, nonslip shoes
- Flexibility to work 7 days a week and various shifts
- Strong communication skills in English
- Familiarity with food and beverage point of sale systems
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Previous experience in cash handling and liquor service
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Certification in an alcohol awareness program
- Computer skills with familiarity in Microsoft Office and food & beverage point of sale systems preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in food and beverage preferred
- Previous cash handling experience preferred
- Training in liquor, wine, and food service preferred
- Previous guest/customer relations training preferred
Job Duties
- Provide courteous service following hotel standards while preparing alcoholic drinks for guests
- Check the identification of all customers to ensure legal drinking age
- Take drink orders, serve drinks, and collect payment
- Upsell food and beverages by making informed and eloquent suggestions
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in work areas
- Resolve guest challenges to ensure guest satisfaction
- Assist barbacks and cocktail servers to ensure smooth service
- Prepare consumption reports and document inventory accurately
- Use chemicals in accordance with OSHA and hotel requirements
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, liquor brands, wines, and nonalcoholic selections
- Adhere strictly to state liquor regulations
- Handle cash transactions securely and according to hotel procedures
- Complete opening, closing, and side duties as assigned
- Act responsibly during emergencies to protect guests and hotel property
- Know and abide by all department and hotel policies and brand standards
