This position is for a Bartender role that is integral to the hospitality services provided by the Pueblo of Sandia. The role involves delivering fast, friendly, and professional beverage and food services across multiple bars and restaurants managed by the entity. The Bartender is responsible for crafting and serving a wide variety of beverages including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks. They must also demonstrate the ability to handle challenging customer situations diplomatically and uphold the standards of responsible alcohol service by refusing service to intoxicated patrons and ensuring compliance among co-workers.
This position demands physical endurance including standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 25 lbs regularly, and performing tasks that involve bending, reaching, and grasping. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and willing to work weekends, holidays, and varying shift schedules including nights and split shifts.
Licensing and certification requirements include the need to obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License and a Food Handlers certification. Additionally, the hiring process requires passing a rigorous background check and undergoing pre-employment and random drug screenings.

Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age

Job Duties
- Provides exceptional service to guests by taking orders, making recommendations, and ensuring a positive experience
- Crafts and serves a wide range of beverages including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks
- Serves food items as required and prepares drinks with proper pouring portions and ingredients according to recipe
- Sets up and breaks down the bar area including stocking products, changing kegs, and cleaning
- Checks and maintains bar equipment and utensils, reporting issues to the supervisory team
- Maintains a clean and well-stocked bar and workstation following health and safety guidelines
- Operates POS system accurately handling cash, charge, and complimentary sales
- Adheres to laws and regulations governing alcohol service including age verification and responsible service practices
- Refuses service to intoxicated guests and handles challenging situations with tact and reports to supervisors
- Completes closing bar duties including clean-up, restocking, paperwork, and inventory management
- Assists in training new team members
- Ensures glassware is clean and free from damage
- Attends pre-shift meetings and completes sales and cash reconciliation
- Ensures responsible alcohol service compliance by self and co-workers
- Maintains incident documentation and temperature logs when applicable
- Represents the department with professional conduct and appearance
- Ensures punctual and regular attendance according to schedule
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- In absence of barback or server changes kegs, maintains tables, and ensures proper sanitation at closing.
