Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server's License prior to hire date
  • must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation
  • must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
  • must be able to lift at least 150 lbs
  • must be available to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and overtime
  • must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • one year of bartending experience in a similar venue required
  • ability to perform physical activities such as balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, walking, sitting, standing, stooping, and talking
  • must maintain highest standards of personal hygiene

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certification
  • bartending experience of at least one year in a similar volume venue
  • knowledge of beverage ingredients, mixing, and proper pouring techniques
  • experience with POS systems
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to handle money and transactions accurately
  • knowledge of liquor, beer, and wine
  • ability to maintain a safe work environment
  • knowledge of sanitation and health guidelines
  • ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • experience in hospitality or customer service environments preferred

Job Duties

  • Provides exceptional service to guests by taking orders, making recommendations, and ensuring a positive experience
  • crafts and serves a wide range of beverages including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks
  • serves food items as required
  • prepares drinks with proper pouring portions and ingredients according to recipe with correct jigger and wine carafe usage
  • sets up and breaks down the bar area at beginning and end of shifts including stocking and cleaning
  • checks and operates bar equipment and reports problems
  • maintains a clean bar and stocked workstation
  • operates POS system, handles transactions, and maintains financial controls
  • adheres to all laws and regulations governing alcohol service including age verification
  • refuses service to intoxicated guests and manages challenging situations tactfully
  • performs clean-up and restocking duties
  • assists in training new team members
  • ensures glassware is clean and undamaged
  • attends pre-shift meetings and completes sales and cash reconciliation
  • ensures all products are properly secured
  • completes incident documentation and temperature logs
  • maintains cleanliness of registers
  • represents department positively through professional conduct
  • accurately tenders and presents checks to guests
  • maintains punctual and regular attendance
