The Club Bartender role at Pebble Beach Company is a vital and dynamic position responsible for delivering prompt, courteous service of beverages and spirits, including the skillful preparation and mixing of cocktails. This role not only supports the core bar operations but also contributes to extraordinary guest experiences through its commitment to professionalism, precision, and hospitality excellence. The bartender will often fill in for other bartenders and servers as necessary, displaying flexibility and teamwork. Job Duties
- Provide all guests with ordered beverage and food promptly and professionally
- Check identification of any guest whose age appears to be younger than 30, abiding by A.B.C. liquor laws
- Know the inventory of the bar well enough to make recommendations to inquiring guests without delay
- Develop familiarity with locations of premium wines to be able to promptly and accurately issue premium wines
- Knowledge of all wine, liquor and beer pars and maintains them
- Participate with manager to complete accurate inventories on all wine, spirits, beer, and bar supplies
- Rotate all pouring wines continuously
- Bin, rotate, and monitor premium bottle wines issued by purchasing based upon daily micros reports
- Communicate any discrepancies to manager immediately
- Accurately complete and code liquor, beer, wine, waters, and other beverage supply requisitions
- Process premium wine and beverage deliveries from Beverage Purchasing
- Assure proper documentation of beverage transfers between departments
- Keep bar, storage areas and beer coolers clean and sanitary at all times
- Properly sanitize blender cup, strainer, knives and pour spouts
- Operate and maintain POS system in proper working order
- Serve as cashier, assisting servers as necessary
- Complete closing reports per shift and accounting of cash, receipts, credit card vouchers and all other closed checks
- Monitor alcohol consumption and behavior of guests alerting a manager of any intoxicated or questionable guests
- Ensure that glassware is clean without soap residue, fingerprints, lipstick, spots, or chips
- Cut fresh fruit on a daily basis, maintaining a part as well as unspoiled fruit
- Check the glass washer detergents are at appropriate levels, filling as needed
- Provide bar back with clear instruction of priorities to be completed
- Report to manager on duty when arriving, prior to taking breaks and before leaving
- Check schedule for changes and is also aware of all posted memos
- Know the hours of operations and is familiar with other outlet menus and hotel services
- Complete all assigned side-work as required
- Be familiar with phone system and able to use efficiently
- Work special events as necessary
- Ensure general housekeeping, including cleaning of fixtures, sinks, appliances, and counters
- Fill in for other bartenders and possible servers as needed
- Assist with other duties as assigned by manager
- Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures
