Job Description

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is a vital and comprehensive program dedicated to supporting and enhancing the quality of life for Marines, their families, and other members of the Marine Corps Community. MCCS operates within a diverse and team-oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors, and volunteers. This job opportunity is located at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma, Arizona, and invites qualified candidates to join as a Bartender. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent service in a bar environment, preparing and serving a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following established recipes, and attending to the needs of patrons. This full-service role involves the proper handling of drinks, garnishes, and glassware, ensuring food orders are taken and served when necessary, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area in accordance with sanitation and safety standards.

The position demands attention to inventory management, including regular monitoring and stocking of beverages and supplies, and the use of point of sale (POS) register systems for cash transactions and record keeping. The bartender must verify the age of customers to comply with legal requirements regarding alcohol and tobacco sales. In addition to routine service duties, the employee will assist in special event setups, including arranging tables and beverage stations and conducting cleanups.

Candidates must effectively handle intoxicated or unruly patrons by resolving issues or escalating them appropriately to supervisors. Additionally, adherence to safety regulations and proactive reporting of any workplace hazards or incidents is mandatory. Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from full service bar or events using established recipes and garnishes
  • Takes food orders and serves prepared foods or snacks
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of bar areas, including washing equipment and cleaning surfaces
  • Stocks bar with necessary supplies and manages inventory, communicates supply needs to supervisor
  • Operates point of sale system and handles cash transactions, balances cash fund at end of shift
  • Checks identification of guests to verify legal age for alcohol or tobacco purchase
  • Assists with setup and teardown of special event beverage stations and cleanup
  • Reports workplace hazards and adheres to safety regulations and standards
