Job Description

The role available within MCCS is that of a Bartender, a key position responsible for preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from full-service bars, service bars, or events. This role requires adherence to established recipes and standards to ensure the quality and consistency of beverages served. The bartender will also manage bar cleanliness and organization to promote efficient operations, including washing equipment, cleaning surfaces, and maintaining sanitation and safety standards. Inventory management is integral to the position, involving stocking the bar appropriately, preparing inventory lists, and communicating supply needs to management timely. The role involves interacting with customers to take food orders, serve snacks, and provide recommendations for beverages, enhancing the overall guest experience. Bartenders at MCCS are expected to operate point-of-sale systems for transactions, maintain accurate cash handling and balancing procedures, and comply with all applicable food, beverage, and alcohol regulations. The position demands excellent customer service skills and the capability to identify and manage intoxicated patrons, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests. Additionally, the bartender will support special events with setup, maintenance, and cleanup activities as needed. This position requires a minimum age of 21 years and at least two years of verifiable bartending experience. The role often involves working nights, weekends, holidays, and special events, necessitating flexibility and dedication. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a minimum of two years of verifiable bartending experience
  • Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing
  • Basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
  • Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs independently and more with assistance
  • Must comply with all food and beverage regulations and certifications
  • Ability to pass background checks and provide required documentation
  • Commitment to workplace safety and reporting hazards

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of verifiable bartending experience
  • Ability to mix and serve a wide variety of beverages efficiently
  • Knowledge of beverage ingredients and preparation techniques
  • Ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and resolve issues appropriately
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Basic computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
  • Ability to operate point of sale systems
  • Knowledge of food handling and alcohol certification requirements

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages using established recipes and appropriate garnishes
  • Prepare garnishes and take food orders, serve prepared foods and snacks
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas, including washing equipment and following sanitation guidelines
  • Keep bar stocked with necessary supplies and communicate supply needs to management
  • Operate point of sale register system, handle cash transactions, and assist with liquor inventories
  • Check identification for age compliance and follow procedures to minimize inventory losses
  • Assist with special events by setting up, maintaining beverage stations, and cleanup
  • Report workplace hazards and adhere to safety regulations and EEO standards
