Job Description
The hiring establishment is a vibrant bar and store known for its specialty frozen daiquiris alongside a wide variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. This establishment is committed to providing a welcoming atmosphere where guests can enjoy expertly crafted drinks served with friendly and prompt service. The bar prides itself on maintaining a clean and orderly environment, ensuring that every guest experiences a visually appealing and hygienic setting to relax and socialize. The team emphasizes ethical service and positive interactions with its guests, reflecting the culture and values of the business.
This role is for an experienced bartender who is responsible for making, mixing, pouring, and creating frozen daiquiris as well as other beverage items for the guests of the bar and store. The successful candidate will present the menu, answer questions, and make drink suggestions to enhance the guest experience. They will also offer samples of the signature frozen daiquiris and proactively engage in suggestive selling of other beverages. Efficiently taking guest drink orders both from patrons seated at the bar and from servers forms a critical part of this role.
The bartender will input orders accurately into the POS system and expertly prepare drinks as ordered, paying special attention to detail such as slicing fruit for garnishing beverages. Hygiene and order are paramount; therefore, they are required to maintain a clean bar area, arrange glassware and plasticware attractively, and clean and reset the bar between guests. Handling billing processes smoothly by preparing bills and accepting payment or directing guests to the appropriate cashier is essential, as is providing courteous service by thanking guests and inviting them back.
The role may occasionally entail serving as a barback, which includes refilling machines and comprehensive cleaning of the bar area. The bartender will work closely with colleagues and customers, necessitating excellent communication skills and a positive, ethical demeanor that aligns with the establishment's culture. This position demands someone capable of multitasking, prioritizing tasks efficiently, and maintaining organization under pressure.
Physical stamina is a key requirement, with the role necessitating standing and walking for extended periods (ranging from 2 to 8 hours per day) and the ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds. The work environment involves exposure to varying temperatures, both indoors and outdoors, and the capacity to tolerate high noise levels from music and customer traffic. Handling various equipment such as food and liquor mixing devices, drink machines, sanitizers, cleaning products, knives, and sharp objects safely is necessary.
Overall, this bartender position offers a dynamic and engaging opportunity for candidates who enjoy guest interaction, take pride in their craft, and are committed to maintaining a high-quality bar experience. Employment is typically part-time, requiring a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week, suitable for those seeking a flexible schedule. Candidates must have prior bartending experience and valid certification for serving alcohol, along with a minimum age of 18 years. This role is ideal for individuals looking to grow their bartending skills in a supportive and upbeat environment.
