Job Description
Gulf Coast Restaurant Group (GCRG) is a well-recognized hospitality company that operates in multiple locations, known for delivering exceptional dining and bar experiences within the restaurant sector. GCRG prides itself on fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for both employees and customers. The organization maintains a strict commitment to equal employment opportunities and adheres to policies that prevent discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, and other protected attributes. This culture promotes fairness, respect, and diversity, which aligns with the company’s mission to provide superior food and beverage services through a highly skilled and motivated workforce. The restaurants managed by GCRG combine a vibrant atmosphere with high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service, making it a preferred destination for guests seeking quality dining and social interactions. Working at GCRG means joining a team that encourages professional growth, teamwork, and dedication to excellence in hospitality.
The role of Bartender at Gulf Coast Restaurant Group plays a crucial part in shaping a guest's dinner and bar experience. As an essential member of the service team, a bartender at GCRG must consistently deliver an outstanding level of guest satisfaction by preparing and serving beverages in accordance with established recipes and company standards. The position requires an individual who is friendly, outgoing, and possesses excellent communication skills to engage guests warmly and professionally. Moreover, the bartender must be highly organized and capable of thinking quickly and effectively under pressure while maintaining self-composure and a positive demeanor.
Bartenders at GCRG are responsible not only for mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks but also for maintaining a clean and inviting bar environment. The role demands attention to detail, such as arranging bottles and glassware attractively, restocking supplies, and ensuring the bar area meets the company’s cleanliness standards at all times. Additionally, bartenders are expected to work cohesively with servers and other restaurant staff, facilitating efficient food and beverage service to enhance the overall guest experience.
The work environment behind the bar is dynamic and often fast-paced, with noise levels that may be high. The position includes physical demands such as standing and walking throughout the entire shift, frequent bending, lifting (up to 35 lbs.), and the ability to handle glassware safely. The bartender must consistently monitor guests' alcohol consumption and serve responsibly, utilizing sound judgment to prevent over-serving and escalate issues to management when necessary.
GCRG emphasizes a high standard of customer service where bartenders anticipate guest needs, communicate clearly and enthusiastically, and make each patron feel appreciated and welcomed. This role does not include supervisory duties but is vital in creating a positive and memorable dining and bar experience for every guest. The bartender position at GCRG typically involves long hours and frequent weekend work, reflecting the nature of the hospitality industry. The company does not expect travel for this role. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced bartenders or those looking to grow in the hospitality field, within a reputable and supportive restaurant group.
