Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in beverage service or bartending preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Physically capable of lifting 25 to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items
- Manual dexterity and coordination
- Ability to work in mentally and physically stressful situations
- Ability to respond to visual and aural cues
- Willingness to work in cold and hot temperatures
- Willingness to be exposed to secondhand smoke
- Must comply with all state, federal, and corporate liquor laws
Job Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation
- Understanding of service standards and guest relations etiquette
- Knowledge of table settings, service ware, and menu items
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to memorize and promote menu items
- Ability to operate beverage and toaster equipment
Job Duties
- Ensure complete guest satisfaction
- Maintain proper and adequate bar set-up daily including requisitioning and stocking of beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce
- Maintain stock, cut and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables to ensure product quality
- Greet guests courteously and promote beverage orders
- Input orders into POS, create guest checks and maintain beverage accountability
- Receive and handle cash transactions accurately, balance all monies
- Secure beverages, food, equipment, deposits, cash drops, and banks
- Perform cleaning tasks adhering to health standards
- Set up bar in accordance with company standards and guidelines
- Provide exceptional and attentive service to lounge or bar guests
- Demonstrate complete knowledge of bar and menu items, preparation, and pairing suggestions
- Clear and bus bar tables if necessary
- Support other associates during peak business periods
- Suggestive sell to increase average check
- Prepare for next shift or day
