We are currently seeking passionate bartenders to join our dedicated team at The Moseley. The role is best suited for professionals who have experience working in upscale wine bars or fine dining environments and who share our enthusiasm for wine and hospitality. As a bartender, you will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by preparing and serving beverages, particularly wine, beer, and spirits, with precision and care. Maintaining high standards for responsible alcohol service, accuracy in order preparation, and providing warm, engaging interactions with guests are vital components of this position.

The Bartender at The Moseley is entrusted with managing the bar operations during service, including cash handling, cleanliness, and interaction with guests to ensure their needs are consistently met. This role demands strong product knowledge, especially regarding wines, to confidently guide guests through the wine list, making recommendations tailored to their preferences and occasions. The position also requires excellent multitasking capabilities and attention to detail to maintain efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Bartenders must uphold all food safety, sanitation, and service standards while contributing positively to the team-oriented workplace culture.

In this role, you will act as the frontline ambassador for The Moseley's esteemed wine program, helping to educate guests about wine pairings and service, ensuring that every pour enhances the dining experience. You will also be responsible for maintaining the bar and wine storage areas, supporting the seamless flow of service, and assisting with opening and closing duties. Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in upscale or fine dining establishments
  • Strong passion and knowledge of wine
  • Proficiency with beer, liquor, and drink preparation
  • Exceptional grooming and appearance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and solve problems in a busy environment
  • Highly reliable, organized, and detail oriented
  • Flexible work schedule including weekends
  • Basic math proficiency and ability to operate POS systems
  • Strong multitasking abilities
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Job Qualifications

  • Be 21 years of age
  • At least 2-3 year experience in upscale or fine dining
  • Have strong knowledge and passion for wine
  • Have working knowledge of beer and liquor and drink making
  • Must have exceptional grooming habits
  • Great communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with guests and peers
  • Able to stay calm and problem-solve in a busy environment
  • Reliable, organized, and attentive to detail
  • Flexible availability, including weekends
  • Possess basic math skills and can handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
  • Excellent multi-tasking and attention to detail
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • Able to lift 50 lbs

Job Duties

  • Deliver warm, genuine hospitality and take care of our guests
  • Learn the names and personally recognize our regulars
  • Prepare and serve all beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards
  • Provide friendly, professional, and engaging service to bar and table guests
  • Verify guest identification and follow all responsible alcohol service guidelines
  • Accurately take orders and process payments using the POS system
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, equipment, and guest areas
  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager
  • Wash and sterilize glassware
  • Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks, appetizers for bar patrons
  • Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
  • Serve as a frontline ambassador for the wine program, offering informed recommendations by the glass and bottle while understanding guest intent and occasion
  • Confidently guide guests through the wine list, articulating style, region, producer philosophy, and ideal food pairings in an approachable, conversational manner
  • Execute proper wine service standards including glassware selection, bottle presentation, opening, and pacing of pours to enhance the guest experience
  • Support wine program integrity by maintaining menu knowledge, communicating 86’d items, and reinforcing storage and handling standards on the floor
  • Maintain proper wine storage, rotation, preservation systems, and cleanliness of the wine service areas to ensure quality and consistency
  • Restock bar supplies, batch garnishes, and glassware
  • Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and leadership to support smooth service flow
  • Complete opening and closing duties, including setup, breakdown, and cleaning
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a team-focused attitude
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
