Bartenders are responsible for preparing and serving both beverages and food with a friendly, courteous, and timely approach, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction throughout their interaction. This role offers clear growth opportunities along the career ladder, including advancement to Beverage Manager, Restaurant Supervisor, Restaurant Manager, and eventually Food & Beverage Manager. Key responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized bar area, garnishing drinks with fresh fruit, verifying customer identification for alcohol purchases, and completing beverage requisitions to maintain par levels.The Bartender position also involves interacting closely with guests, taking and serving food and beverage orders, handling payment processes efficiently, and managing intoxicated guests with professionalism and care. Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards such as OSHA and MSDS are critical aspects of the role, as is participating in sustainable practices aligned with HHM's EarthView program. Candidates are expected to complete side work prior to shift end and assist in beverage inventory management. The job requires physical stamina for standing, walking, lifting, and bending, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality environment.Required qualifications include previous bartending or mixology experience or equivalent training, with preferred certifications such as TIPS and Food Sanitation (the latter required within the first 90 days of employment). Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Previous bartending/mixologist experience required or equivalent training
  • Food Sanitation certificate a plus, required within 90 days of employment
  • Able to stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including holidays and weekends

Job Duties

  • Maintain clean and organize bar areas
  • Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
  • Prepare and serve drink and/or food orders
  • If applicable, take orders, and serve and clear food and beverage to guests seated at tables in bar and lounge areas
  • Issue guest check and complete payment process
  • Follow standards for identifying and managing intoxicated guests
