Job Description
BakeChop Catering & Events is a prominent catering and event company located in downtown DeLand. The company specializes in providing unique and customized catering experiences for a variety of events, ranging from private parties and weddings to corporate gatherings and special celebrations. Known for its commitment to quality service, creativity, and attention to detail, BakeChop Catering & Events has established itself as a trusted name in the local hospitality and event management industry.
Currently, BakeChop Catering & Events is seeking dependable and hardworking bartenders to join their event team on a part-time, as needed basis. This is a unique opportunity for individuals interested in flexible work schedules and gaining experience in dynamic event environments. Unlike traditional bartender roles with fixed weekly hours, this position operates on a shift bidding system. Available event shifts are posted to the team, who then bid on the shifts they can work. Management reviews the bids and confirms the final team composition accordingly.
Bartenders at BakeChop Catering & Events will be working at varied event locations, including the company’s downtown DeLand venue as well as offsite locations throughout the region. For offsite events, bartenders may report directly to the specified event venue. In addition to bartending duties, team members may be required to assist with unloading, cleaning, organizing, and properly storing equipment and supplies back at the company venue after events conclude.
The hourly pay for this position is $18 per hour plus a tip share, with gratuities provided by clients distributed equally among the event team. This compensation structure offers bartenders the potential to increase earnings based on event attendance and tipping generosity. The role demands physical stamina and a hands-on approach, requiring bartenders to be comfortable standing for long durations, lifting and carrying heavy items such as alcohol cases and coolers, and moving equipment to ensure smooth event operations.
This position emphasizes teamwork and flexibility. Bartenders not only prepare and serve drinks but actively support all aspects of the event, from setup through teardown. The fast-paced, ever-changing nature of events at BakeChop Catering & Events means no two shifts are the same, offering a dynamic and engaging work experience. Employees can expect to work indoors and outdoors, often in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain.
Bartenders must be knowledgeable in classic cocktails, standard pours, and accurately prepare drinks according to house recipes without relying heavily on written guides. Maintaining a clean and organized bar area, providing professional guest service, and supporting fellow servers and kitchen staff are essential responsibilities. Strong communication, reliability, punctuality, and a guest-focused attitude are critical to success in this role.
Overall, this part-time bartending opportunity at BakeChop Catering & Events is ideal for individuals seeking flexible event work that offers a supportive, team-oriented environment and the chance to build skills in the hospitality and event service industry.
