Job Description

Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux is a vibrant restaurant and bar chain born out of the passion and perseverance of two former LSU walk-on basketball players. Established in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Walk-On's began as a modest venture with no financial backing or guarantees, relying solely on hard work, teamwork, and an indomitable spirit. Today, it has blossomed into a nationally recognized brand known for delivering unique dining experiences infused with authentic Louisiana flavor and a contagious gameday atmosphere. The core values of Walk-On's—teamwork, hospitality, passion, growth, and community—define the culture and drive the success of every location. Every team member is valued as an integral part of the collective effort to create unforgettable guest moments, whether serving food, managing the floor, or greeting customers. This ethos fosters an inclusive, supportive environment where employees take pride in their work and feel motivated to grow professionally and personally.

The position of bartender at Walk-On's is a key role that requires energy, skill, and a warm, engaging personality. Operating in a fast-paced environment characterized by lively gameday excitement, bartenders serve as the face of the bar and playmakers behind the scenes. They are responsible for crafting a wide variety of beverages, including classic cocktails, cold beers, and popular mixed drinks, all while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Bartenders also ensure compliance with all legal alcohol service regulations, verifying IDs and serving responsibly to promote a safe and enjoyable environment for guests. This position is classified as part-time and non-exempt, reporting directly to the Manager on Duty.

Bartenders at Walk-On's are not just drink makers but also integral team players who help maintain a stocked and organized bar, assist with food and beverage service, and contribute to a clean and inviting atmosphere. The role demands the ability to handle cash and credit transactions efficiently, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, and engage with guests to build lasting relationships. Successful bartenders bring enthusiasm and a contagious positive attitude, quickly adapting to high-energy settings and delivering a top-tier guest experience day after day. The role provides flexible scheduling ideal for students or individuals with other commitments and offers opportunities for career advancement within the company. Employees who join Walk-On's can expect to work within a culture that celebrates camaraderie, hard work, and continuous growth, making it a rewarding place to build a career in hospitality.
