The Bartender position at City Winery is pivotal in delivering an exceptional guest experience that complements the venue's cultural and culinary excellence. The role involves preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, engaging guests with insightful recommendations, and facilitating seamless service throughout the venue. Bartenders at City Winery are more than drink servers; they are ambassadors of the brand, tasked with educating guests on beverage selections, promoting special events, and driving sales through a passionate and knowledgeable approach.

This role requires a high energy individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, and possesses a deep understanding of wine, craft beer, and spirits. The Bartender must be attentive to guests’ needs, delivering personalized service that turns a visit into an unforgettable occasion. Besides beverage preparation, the bartender supports floor service, assists in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar, and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations and legal requirements concerning alcohol service.

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years experience as a bartender in a fast-paced high-volume service environment and/or equivalent relevant experience

  • fluency in English including ability to read write communicate perform basic mathematics and operate POS

  • ability to perform physical requirements including standing walking for entirety of shift bending pulling pushing using stairs lifting and carrying up to 50lbs

Job Duties

  • Provide positive guest experience including greeting conversing with and thanking departing guests
  • interact with guests take orders serve food and beverages handle transactions and support guest service needs from beginning to end
  • prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for patrons within the standards of City Winery
  • upsell increase check average compete in sales incentives drive marketing promotions and special events and promote the City Winery brand
  • perform opening and closing duties including set-up maintenance and breakdown of the area within the allotted time frame not to exceed 20% or maximum of 2 hours of the scheduled shift time
  • assist in floor service by attending to tables as needed
  • assess guest needs and preferences provide recommendations to upsell
