The role available is that of a Bartender at BOP STOP, the live music venue operated by The Music Settlement. This part-time, as-needed position offers an hourly pay rate of $6 plus tips. Shifts generally occur in the evenings during shows, usually starting between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., with employees working approximately 2 to 4 shifts per month for a total of 8 to 20 hours monthly. The job requires flexibility in scheduling with a priority on working nights and weekends during live events.

As the Bartender at BOP STOP, the individual will play a crucial role in supporting the venue's operations by providing excellent customer service during shows and special events. Responsibilities include welcoming and engaging with customers at the bar, accurately taking and fulfilling drink orders, maintaining bar inventory, and ensuring a clean, organized bar area. The Bartender will collaborate closely with the Director and Assistant Director of BOP STOP, as well as fellow staff members, to deliver a seamless guest experience in a lively music setting. This position is ideal for someone comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes loud environment who has practical bartending skills such as handling cocktail shakers and beer taps, as well as creative acumen for mixing new drinks or recommending pairings.

Safety and compliance are essential aspects of the role, including verifying customer age and adhering to laws and internal policies regarding alcohol service. The individual must possess confidence and sound judgment to enforce these regulations despite potential pressure from patrons. Additional duties may include assisting with event clean-up, managing artist equipment, and contributing to the upkeep and updating of drink menus.

Physical stamina is important, as the job involves standing for the entire shift, lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive hand movements. The successful candidate will exhibit professionalism, a customer service-focused demeanor, and the ability to remain calm and efficient under time pressure.
