Job Description
Silver Diner Development LLC is a distinguished leader in the casual dining segment, recognized for its commitment to quality, diversity, and exceptional customer service. Positioned among the Washington Post's 'Most Diverse Places to Work' and featured in Full Service Restaurant Magazine's '20 Full Service Restaurants to Watch,' Silver Diner brings a fresh approach to dining by bridging the gap between traditional tablecloth restaurants and fast food. With its award-winning fresh and local menu that includes innovative flexitarian and healthy options, Silver Diner proudly sources the highest quality ingredients from over 15 local farms emphasizing organic and sustainable agriculture. The company not only seeks to serve great food but also to cultivate an environment where its people can thrive personally and professionally. Silver Diner is deeply committed to a culture that prioritizes its team members, offering internal mobility and career advancement opportunities. More than 60 percent of its managers and all General Managers and Area Directors have been promoted from within, reflecting the company's dedication to fostering employee growth and success. This position is for a Bartender at Silver Diner, a crucial role that embodies the core values of hospitality and guest service. Bartenders at Silver Diner play an essential role as the face of the brand, engaging with guests warmly and energetically while crafting beverages that complement the cutting-edge flexitarian menu designed by award-winning Chef Ype Von Hengst. This role requires bartenders to mix and serve drinks prepared with house-made syrups and purees made from fresh, local ingredients supplied by partner farms and to follow standard recipes created by award-winning mixologist Richard Torres. The bartender not only serves beverages but also handles food orders and Point of Sale (POS) transactions, ensuring order accuracy and excellent customer interaction. This position requires availability for full-time or part-time shifts, including weekends and holidays, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the dynamic restaurant environment. Bartenders can expect to earn up to $800 or more per week in tips, reflecting the busy and lucrative nature of the role. Silver Diner offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K plan, and an Employee Assistance Program, alongside perks such as referral bonuses, meal discounts, and gym membership discounts. Furthermore, the company encourages personal and career growth, offering pathways to become trainers, supervisors, or managers. The bartender role involves a variety of responsibilities focused on delivering a high standard of service: greeting guests promptly, ensuring order accuracy, promoting menu items, maintaining bar cleanliness and attractive displays, and practicing responsible alcohol service consistent with state regulations. This fast-paced and stimulating environment demands excellent communication skills, organizational talents, multi-tasking ability, and a genuine passion for hospitality. Safety and physical endurance are important, as the role involves standing for extended periods, lifting and maneuvering heavy items, working with kitchen equipment, and adhering to cleanliness standards. Silver Diner firmly believes that "People Are Our Most Precious Resource," and they seek team members who are friendly, caring, and ready to contribute to a warm, guest-focused atmosphere. The opportunity to join one of the busiest restaurants in America, which is recognized as an industry category leader, offers a rewarding and dynamic career path for those who are passionate about food, drink, and exceptional service.
