Job Description

Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for delivering exceptional guest experiences through its diverse portfolio of brands. Among these brands is JW Marriott, a luxury collection of over 100 stunning properties located in gateway cities and distinctive resort destinations worldwide. JW Marriott is committed to fostering a work culture where associates are valued, supported, and inspired to grow professionally and personally. The brand emphasizes holistic well-being, innovation, and genuine service, encapsulated in its unique approach called The JW Treatment™, which prioritizes taking care of associates as a foundation for outstanding guest interactions.

JW Marriott embodies the legacy of its founder, J. Willard Marriott, by cultivating an environment where community, camaraderie, and professional development thrive. Associates at JW Marriott benefit from comprehensive training programs, recognition initiatives, and opportunities to pursue their passions within a luxury setting. The company is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive workplace that celebrates the unique backgrounds and talents of its global team. This dedication to diversity and equal opportunity strengthens JW Marriott's position as a premier employer within the hospitality sector.

The role offered is a Bartender position located at 101 Bowie St, San Antonio, Texas, within one of JW Marriott’s distinguished properties. This full-time, non-management role offers a pay rate of $9.70 per hour. The position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about delivering outstanding guest service and creating memorable experiences beyond simply mixing drinks. JW Marriott seeks bartenders who are well-versed in foundational bartending skills but are also eager to stay current with new trends, micro-local beverage offerings, and evolving guest preferences.

As a Bartender at JW Marriott, you are expected to be much more than a beverage enthusiast; you will serve as a host and ambassador of the space, taking ownership of the guest experience throughout the venue. This means building strong relationships not only with guests but also with colleagues across the hotel and within the wider community, to anticipate and meet the varied needs of guests.

The role requires attention to detail and a commitment to quality, whether managing cash transactions, providing accurate information to guests, or maintaining the aesthetic and operational excellence of the bar. Bartenders must be physically active, standing, walking, and moving throughout their shift while performing hands-on duties that include lifting and reaching. Safety, adherence to company policies, protection of assets, confidentiality, and professional appearance are fundamental components of success in this role.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and at least one year of related bartending experience, although no supervisory experience is required. At JW Marriott, each associate's contribution is integral to upholding the hotel’s promise of 'Wonderful Hospitality. Always.' This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic, guest-focused environment and who is eager to grow within a reputable luxury hospitality brand. Joining JW Marriott means becoming part of a global team where you can be your best self, develop your career, and make a meaningful impact in the world of luxury hospitality.
