The Bartender position at Duffy's is a pivotal role within the service team, reporting directly to the General Manager. This role is essential to the overall customer experience as it involves interacting closely with bar guests, taking and processing orders accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system, and maintaining the bar's cleanliness and organization standards. The bartender is responsible not only for mixing and serving drinks but also for enhancing the guest experience by explaining menu items, upselling carefully to optimize the guest's dining experience, and ensuring compliance with age and safety regulations when serving alcohol. The position demands a high level of product knowledge, particularly of the MVP program and various beverage offerings, including liquor, wine, bottled, and draft beer.

Key responsibilities include preparing drinks according to established recipes and service standards, handling cash transactions, restocking bar supplies, cutting garnishes, and maintaining an attractive and clean bar area. The bartender must also possess the interpersonal skills to create a positive environment for guests and coworkers, managing potentially challenging situations such as guests who may have had excessive alcohol consumption tactfully and professionally. This role requires physical endurance as bartenders stand and move throughout their shifts, often requiring multitasking and coordination of several tasks simultaneously.
