As a Bartender at Francis Ford Coppola Winery, you will be an integral part of the Guest Experience team, responsible for preparing and serving beverages with passion and skill. This role encompasses working across various venues on the property, including poolside and restaurant settings, serving guests in a welcoming, positive, and engaging manner. You will be involved with seasonal cocktail rotations and are encouraged to develop new cocktail recipes that enhance the guest experience and promote the winery's offerings.
Working as a Bartender here is more than just mixing drinks; it involves creating a vibrant and enjoyable environment where guests feel valued and attended to. This role demands strong multitasking abilities and a knack for anticipating guest needs, recommending drinks, and upselling house wines and specials thoughtfully. The bartender also plays a crucial part in maintaining an attractive, clean, and well-stocked bar area throughout every shift. Compliance with all relevant food and beverage regulations, including responsible alcohol service, is essential.
Employment with Delicato Family Wines is on a non-exempt basis, with competitive hourly pay ranging from $16.50 to $23.03, contingent on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- high school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years restaurant experience
- bartending certification
- TIPS Certification or certified within 90 days of employment
- CA Food Handlers certification required
- basic English speaking and reading skills desired
- ability to work in high paced work environment
- ability to multitask and prioritize
- ability to work shift rotation
- able to work in close quarters or confined spaces
- able to work indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to elements and temperature variations

Job Duties
- Mixes and serves alcoholic beverages based on requests and orders
- welcomes guests in a warm and friendly manner
- anticipates business levels for each shift and replenishes bar inventory and supply as needed
- promotes upselling of products and House Wines
- understands and communicates promotions and events occurring at the Winery
- continuously looks at ways to improve service, streamline efficiencies and maximize revenue possibilities
- ensures the Front-of-House is presentable to guests at all times
- complies with all food and beverage regulations
- ensures the bar area is presentable at the end of each shift
- handles cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register
- develops new cocktail recipes
- checks guest's identification and confirms compliance with the legal drinking age
- assesses guest needs and preferences and makes recommendations
- delivers beverage and food orders placed by servers and delivers meals and drinks to the restaurant guests
- responds promptly and professionally to guest inquiries and requests
- assists servers with side work including, but not limited to, cleaning, stocking, polishing silverware, glassware, folding silverware, bussing, and resetting tables
- maintains cleanliness of work areas throughout the day by clearing, collecting, and returning food and beverage items to proper areas
