As a Bartender at SSP America, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest service at one of our busy food and beverage locations. You will process orders efficiently and accurately using the point of sale (POS) system, manage cash transactions, serve a variety of cold, frozen, and hot drinks including alcoholic beverages, and offer timely food service. Maintaining cleanliness throughout your work area is essential as is the proper handling and sanitation of equipment and utensils. Your role will require excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of drink preparation, and adherence to brand standards and certifications.

Bartenders will also be expected to comply with state, federal, and local training standards and demonstrate basic mathematical skills necessary for cash handling tasks. The role demands standing for extended periods in a confined space, as well as the ability to operate POS systems and maintain an inviting atmosphere for guests. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about the hospitality industry who thrive in fast-paced environments and have a genuine enthusiasm for delivering high-quality service.

Job Requirements

  • 21 years old
  • Minimum one year bartending experience
  • Certification by state, federal, or local required training program
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages
  • Verbal and written English language
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand weights and measurements
  • Brand certification as required
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check and order and close out a check
  • Ability to work and stand in confined spaces for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system
  • Receive payment from the customer and process change
  • Serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks as well as a wide variety of food items to guests
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
  • Ensure that the work area is clean throughout the day
  • Clean equipment and utensils, remove trash, sweep and mop work area, dust and clean
  • Perform other duties as assigned
