The bartender role within our food and beverage department is vital to the overall dining experience. This position involves delivering prompt and courteous service, ensuring guests enjoy high-quality beverages in a clean and guest-ready environment. The ideal candidate is someone who embodies honesty and trustworthiness, as they will have access to guestrooms and property areas. This role requires a good understanding of beverage preparation techniques, safety, and service standards, as well as excellent communication skills to effectively engage with guests and team members.
Bartenders are expected to create a welcoming atmosphere by preparing drinks accurately and efficiently, managing inventory responsibly, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of their workstations. The position demands physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift and carry weights, and perform other physical tasks. Candidates with prior experience in food and beverage positions, particularly in chain food or retail outlets, will have an advantage. Educational qualifications such as a high school diploma or equivalent are required, with an associate's degree and relevant certifications like food handling and alcohol safety being preferred.
Additionally, our bartender must be knowledgeable about alcoholic beverages, cocktail trends, and menu items to provide insightful recommendations to guests. Job Requirements
- Must be able to perform major life activities: standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating
- must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift and/or carry 30 pounds unassisted
- must be able to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, and reach
- must be able to see and hear
- must be able to communicate with other associates and/or guests
- potential associates must pass appropriate security clearances
- physical presence at the hotel required
- ability to work any day/shift, including weekends

Job Qualifications
- One year experience in food and beverage position
- experience with chain food and retail outlet preferred
- high school diploma or equivalent
- associate's degree preferred
- food handling and alcohol safety certifications preferred
- knowledge of age requirements and verifying those who order alcoholic beverages
- familiarity with menu items, preparation methods and beverage choices
- understanding of various types of alcoholic beverages and cocktail trends
- ability to operate property management system
- friendly professional attitude
- ability to sell, suggest and serve quality food and beverage items

Job Duties
- Prepare and consistently maintain working area and supplies in a guest ready atmosphere
- prepare and serve drinks as requested by guests
- process guest charges and gratuities in accordance to standards, policies and procedures
- maintain safety and security practices, have thorough knowledge of emergency procedures
- ensure guests are provided with the highest quality product and service
- maintain certification from a brand approved responsible vendor training program
- maintain liquor inventory regularly
- other duties as assigned, that the associate is capable of performing
