Job Description

Ugly Dumpling is a distinctive restaurant known for its commitment to delivering a unique dining experience by combining innovative cuisine with exceptional customer service. As a vibrant and popular establishment, Ugly Dumpling prides itself on creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests to enjoy an extraordinary meal paired with expertly crafted beverages. The restaurant focuses on maintaining high standards of quality in both its food and beverage offerings, ensuring every guest leaves with a memorable impression of the brand. This dedication to excellence is evident not only in the menu but also in the professional and friendly service team that upholds the restaurant's core values.

The Bartender at Ugly Dumpling plays a crucial role in enhancing the guest experience by providing high-quality drink service in a lively bar environment. This position requires an individual who is passionate about mixology and guest interaction, as the bartender is often one of the first points of contact for guests at the bar. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, bubble tea, and other non-alcoholic drinks following specific recipes and presentation standards that reflect the Ugly Dumpling brand. Beyond drink preparation, the bartender is expected to engage warmly with guests, offer knowledgeable recommendations, and handle any concerns with professionalism and promptness to ensure guests feel valued and satisfied throughout their visit.

Employment types for this role include both full-time and part-time options, with the work schedule typically ranging from 30 to 40 hours per week. The position offers an hourly base wage complemented by tips, reflecting the importance of excellent customer service and bartending skills. The bartender reports directly to the Manager or Assistant General Manager and operates within a team-oriented environment where collaboration with servers, barbacks, and kitchen staff is essential for seamless service delivery.

Safety and sanitation practices are paramount to uphold a safe working environment for both staff and guests. The role also includes handling cash and credit transactions accurately, participating in pre-shift meetings, and occasionally assisting in the training of new bar staff. Flexibility in schedule is a must, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the evolving needs of the restaurant's busy hours.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant or bar setting, thrives under pressure, and has a genuine passion for crafting quality drinks and creating memorable guest experiences. With a positive attitude, attention to detail, and strong customer service skills, the bartender at Ugly Dumpling helps solidify the restaurant's reputation as a top destination for excellent food and beverage service.
