The role available is for a Bartender at the JW Marriott hotel in Bethesda, Maryland. This is a full-time, non-management, hourly position offering a pay range of $11.10 to $11.94 per hour, with an additional training and paid time off rate between $22.20 and $23.88 per hour, and it is tip eligible. The Bartender is more than just a skilled beverage maker; they are pivotal in creating a unique and memorable experience for guests. Success in this role requires not only mastering the basic skills of drink preparation but also an ongoing commitment to understanding evolving market trends and guest preferences. The Bartender serves as a host within the bar environment, taking personal responsibility for the guest’s experience and the overall appearance and function of the bar. They build connections both within the hotel and the wider community, demonstrating passion for guest experience, attention to detail in handling money and providing accurate information to guests, and pride in delivering high-quality beverages. This position demands a safe work environment, adherence to company policies, confidentiality, and maintenance of uniform and professional communication standards. Physical activity is integral to the role, including standing, sitting, walking, lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds independently, and performing various physical movements such as reaching, kneeling, and bending.
Candidates typically have a high school diploma or equivalent general educational development certificate (GED) with at least one year of related work experience.
