Job Description
Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International, is a globally recognized hospitality brand known for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where guests can connect and experience memorable stays. Established in 1937, Sheraton has built its reputation as a gathering place in more than 400 communities worldwide, celebrated for its commitment to thoughtful service, cultural diversity, and a rich blend of talent and experiences among its associates. As a part of Marriott International's portfolio, Sheraton provides a dynamic and supportive work environment that values and celebrates the unique backgrounds of its employees, ensuring non-discrimination and equal opportunity in all aspects of employment. The company stands out in the hospitality industry by not only focusing on guest satisfaction but also on fostering a strong sense of belonging and purpose among its teams. Sheraton encourages career growth and development, making it an ideal place for individuals passionate about hospitality and guest service to thrive.
The Bartender role at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, located in New Orleans, Louisiana, is a full-time, non-management position that is both tip eligible and designed for individuals who are passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences beyond simply mixing drinks. The role requires day and evening shift availability, with a preference for open availability and prior experience in a similar position. Bartenders at Sheraton are expected to be proactive and innovative, staying abreast of new trends, local micro-offerings, and evolving guest preferences to craft unique and memorable experiences. They serve not just as beverage specialists, but as hosts who embody the spirit of hospitality, taking ownership of guest service throughout the venue.
Responsibilities extend beyond just bar management to include ensuring smooth operation, maintaining a clean and well-stocked bar, and building positive relationships with guests and colleagues alike. Bartenders must utilize their expertise to deliver high-quality drinks, manage financial transactions accurately, and provide detailed information to guests about menu offerings. Physical stamina is important as the job involves standing, walking, lifting, and carrying items up to 25 pounds. A focus on safety, adherence to company policies, confidentiality, and professional appearance are foundational elements of success in this role. Sheraton emphasizes a hands-on approach where bartenders actively contribute to the overall guest experience and operational excellence.
Sheraton's commitment to equal opportunity, diversity, and inclusion shapes the Bartender role, making it a rewarding opportunity for individuals who value teamwork and belonging while aiming to deliver unparalleled service in a vibrant hotel setting. Those joining Sheraton become part of a global community dedicated to being "The World's Gathering Place," where they can grow personally and professionally while contributing to a respected worldwide brand.
