A thorough knowledge of drink recipes, food and beverage pairings, and promotional offerings is essential. The Bartender will also be expected to handle customer concerns tactfully, maintaining a positive atmosphere while escalating issues appropriately when necessary.
Operational duties involve setting up and maintaining a clean and well-stocked workstation for efficient service. This includes restocking supplies, cleaning glassware, maintaining inventory accuracy, and upholding sanitary standards in accordance with health regulations. The Bartender must also possess strong cash-handling skills to process sales transactions accurately using point of sale (POS) systems, monitor register balances, and assist with credits and refunds under supervisory guidance.
The ideal candidate will be TABC certified, at least 21 years of age, and have a strong foundation in beverage knowledge. They must be capable of working well independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. Flexibility with scheduling is necessary, as shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina is required to stand for prolonged periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive motions associated with bar service activities.
