The bartender role at Heirloom Restaurant Group is integral to the customer experience, requiring professionalism, excellent service skills, and detailed product knowledge. This position involves greeting and engaging customers warmly, expertly taking and preparing drink orders, and ensuring compliance with all local and state alcohol service laws. The bartender must monitor guests to prevent overconsumption, handling any challenging situations with diplomacy and care. A deep understanding of the drink menu, including cocktails, beers, and wines, along with an ability to make personalized recommendations, will enhance the overall guest experience. Job Requirements

  • Must be 21+ years of age in order to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Previous experience as a bartender in a restaurant or bar setting
  • Knowledge of drink recipes, mixing techniques and drink presentation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle cash transactions and use POS systems
  • Familiarity with local alcohol regulations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-volume periods
  • Attention to detail and excellent multitasking abilities
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a bartender in a restaurant or bar setting

Job Duties

  • Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Take drink orders, provide recommendations, and engage in conversation to enhance the overall customer experience
  • Verify the age of customers to ensure they meet legal requirements for alcohol service
  • Adhere to local and state laws regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages
  • Monitor customer behavior and intervene when necessary to prevent overconsumption
  • Refuse service to customers showing signs of intoxication and handle such situations diplomatically
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the drink menu, including specials and promotions
  • Educate customers on different types of beverages and make suggestions based on their preferences
  • Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, and wines, according to established recipes and customer preferences
  • Ensure the accurate measurement of ingredients and maintain consistency in drink quality
  • Stay updated on current trends in mixology and experiment with new recipes
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create and develop unique drink offerings
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including washing glassware, utensils, and equipment
  • Ensure that the bar is well-stocked with necessary supplies and ingredients
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food and drink orders
  • Ensure timely service by working closely with the serving staff
