The role of Bartender at Applebee's is central to delivering a top-tier guest experience. Bartenders are tasked with mixing and serving drinks, handling food orders, and maintaining a friendly and upbeat atmosphere at the bar. Bartenders are also responsible for operational duties such as completing side work, handling transactions, and ensuring cleanliness and safety behind the bar area. Job Requirements

Able to operate blenders, frozen drink machines and other bar equipment
Stands during entire shift
Frequent immersion of hands in water every five minutes
Ability to wipe down tabletops, table legs, pick up debris off floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant
Transports glass racks cases up to 25 pounds such as a case of beer up to 15 times per shift
Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required
Must have ability to remain stationary for long periods of up to four hours in length
Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous bartending or customer service experience preferred
Strong verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Basic math skills for handling transactions
Knowledge of drink mixing and bar equipment operation
Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

Job Duties

Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water and fruit juice to prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
Interacts verbally with all bar guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere
Serves food and drinks to all bar guests
Completes assigned opening and closing side work
Slices fruit and vegetable garnishes for drinks
Presents guest checks to bar patrons and makes correct change or completes charge card transactions
Processes employee and/or manager food orders
Relays food orders to kitchen via the point-of-sale computerized register system
