Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bartender to join our dynamic Food and Beverage team. This position reports directly to the Beverage Manager and Dining Services Manager and offers both full-time and part-time employment opportunities, available year-round or seasonally. The role is classified as non-exempt, hourly, with competitive compensation ranging from $25 to $30 per hour.

The Bartender will play a critical role in delivering outstanding beverage services, specializing in the preparation and presentation of wines, beers, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks. Candidates should possess an intermediate knowledge of a wide variety of beverage offerings, including seasonal specialty cocktails and curated wine-by-the-glass selections. The ability to skillfully prepare cocktails with various methods, such as straight up, shaken, stirred, or neat, is essential. Candidates will also have a thorough understanding of the appropriate glassware required for each beverage type, ensuring a superior guest experience.

This role requires exceptional speed and accuracy in beverage preparation, the ability to assist with additional beverage services such as water and coffee, as well as meticulous attention to detail in setting up and breaking down the bar, glassware, and related equipment. The Bartender will be responsible for stocking and restocking liquor, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining accurate inventory records through daily sales entry in the point-of-sale system, and monitoring bar equipment including coolers, glass washers, and soda dispensers.

Customer service excellence is a top priority, and the ideal candidate will demonstrate courteous and polite communication with members and guests, addressing them by name and working collaboratively with all staff members. Additional duties include preparing garnishes and mixers, maintaining cleanliness and organization of all food and beverage storage areas, and completing all closing duties and manager check-outs thoroughly. Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for extended periods, and efficiently operate point-of-sale systems.

The Country Club provides a professional uniform which includes a clean, pressed white dress shirt, black slacks, black belt if applicable, green tie, black apron, black socks or stockings, and black comfortable work shoes. TIPS certification is required for this role, and the successful candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining high-quality service standards. Job Requirements

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays as scheduled
  • Must be able to bend and reach for items off shelf, carry trays, and able to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours
  • Use touch screen for POS system

Job Qualifications

  • TIPS certification
  • Intermediate knowledge of food and beverage

Job Duties

  • Intermediate knowledge of all wine, beer, cocktail and non-alcoholic beverage offerings
  • Demonstrated ability of cocktail preparation methods and styles (e.g. straight up, shaken, stirred, neat, etc)
  • Knowledge of seasonal specialty cocktails and wine by the glass menu
  • Understanding of appropriate glassware required per beverage type
  • Prepare beverages in a timely manner as ordered
  • Assist with additional beverage services during service (i.e. water, cocktail, coffee)
  • Set-up and break down of bar, glassware, and equipment in scheduled space
  • Stock liquor, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages
  • restock as necessary
  • Daily sales entry in point-of-sale system and accurate reporting of inventory consumption
  • Monitoring equipment in bar
  • coolers, glass machine, soda dispensing machine
  • Ability to present and pour a bottle of wine or champagne
  • Complete side-work and prep as needed (i.e. cutting citrus, polishing glassware, preparing mixers, etc)
  • Complete close-out duties and check out with manager prior to departing
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all F&B storage areas
  • Assist other bartenders with service and assigned tasks
  • Communicate courteously and politely with members and guests and address by name
  • Ability to work with all staff cohesively and follow directions from manager
  • Maintaining logs to track daily protocols for sanitation
  • Additional duties/projects as assigned by management
