The Bartender’s responsibilities include a wide range of duties from opening and closing procedures to maintaining cleanliness and inventory throughout service hours. Opening duties involve meticulously preparing the bar each day, ensuring all supplies are stocked, glassware is polished, and garnishes and drink mixes are perfectly prepared. Closing responsibilities focus on cleanliness, securing the bar, and restocking essentials for the next shift.

Job Requirements
- Must be over the age of 21 to serve alcohol
- must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- must be able to stand for 8 hours
- must comply with club policies and safety guidelines
Job Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience preferred
- knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage preparation

Job Duties
- Inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available
- requisition additional supplies and alcohol as necessary
- follow set-up procedures
- prepare garnishes, mixes and pre-mixed drinks
- check quality of juices and cream
- stock and polish all necessary glassware
- inform manager of shortages
- mix, prepare and serve drinks according to standards
- maintain and clean all bar equipment during service hours
- report complaints to the manager as soon as they occur
- put away deliveries of beer, wine and spirits
- maintain records of liquor, beers and wine to ensure bar stock is maintained
- inform the manager immediately if any issues arise
- answer the phone as necessary and transmit messages
- ensure that all club policies and procedures are followed
- work safely and report any potentially dangerous situations to the manager
- do not serve alcohol to minors or intoxicated guests and inform manager immediately
- assist wait staff with service tasks
- sweep and mop bar storage floors at end of shift
- clean and lock up according to procedures
- replace syrup and C02 as necessary
- put away syrup boxes on racks when delivered
- lock up according to prescribed procedures
- check with manager on duty before leaving
