Job Description

Peregrine is a renowned Mediterranean restaurant located in the historic Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston, offering a unique culinary experience inspired by the cultures and cuisines of the Italian islands of Sardinia and Sicily, alongside influences from Corsica and Catalonia. The restaurant draws its name and inspiration from the Peregrine falcon, a traveler known for its wide-ranging journey across these regions, symbolizing the restaurant's dedication to providing guests with a rich and immersive dining adventure. As a prominent establishment known for its dedication to excellence and cultural authenticity, Peregrine emphasizes a warm welcome to all guests, ensuring a memorable experience that blends rich tradition with innovative culinary techniques. This restaurant is part of HHM Hotels, a company that values its employees as its core capability, emphasizing values such as hearts that serve, only excellence, staying nimble, and ownership in responsibilities.

The Bartender position at Peregrine focuses on delivering excellent service by preparing and serving beverages and food with friendliness, courtesy, and timeliness to achieve high guest satisfaction. This role is crucial in maintaining the ambiance and customer service standards that the restaurant firmly upholds. Bartenders at Peregrine are expected to maintain clean and organized bar areas, prepare garnishes like slicing and pitting fruit, check customer identification to comply with legal alcohol purchase age requirements, and manage orders efficiently. Additionally, they are responsible for adhering to safety and sustainability programs like HHM's EarthView initiative and follow OSHA and MSDS standards to ensure a safe work environment.

With a clear career progression, this role offers a path from Bartender to Beverage Manager, moving through Restaurant Supervisor, Restaurant Manager, and ultimately Food and Beverage Manager. This progression reflects the company's commitment to internal growth and professional development. Bartenders will also take part in inventory management by completing beverage requisitions and assisting with taking beverage inventory. The position demands flexibility, including working varied schedules that may involve holidays, weekends, and different shifts along with physical requirements such as standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, and bending. This role not only requires technical bartending skills but also a dedication to guest satisfaction and safety regulations to support the restaurant's mission of delivering an outstanding dining experience.
