Job Requirements
- Must have previous bartending experience
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
- Must comply with all local alcohol service laws and regulations
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must be physically capable of standing for long periods
- Must be able to work as part of a team
- Must be able to maintain a positive attitude during stressful situations
- Must be detail-oriented and organized
Job Qualifications
- Must be dressed neatly and well groomed in company approved dress code at all times
- Ability to mix drinks quickly and accurately in a fast-paced, high volume environment
- Follow standards of responsible service of alcohol
- Meet local jurisdiction requirements including obtaining required certifications
- Ability to operate POS system, make change correctly and process credit card transactions
- Ability to calmly respond to angry guests and notify a manager
- Ability to pass initial and annual validation
- Ability to respond clearly to guests' requests
- Ability to hear well amidst loud background noise
- Ability to frequently lift 30 lb cases and carry short distances including stairs
- Ability to stand during entire shift
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, shake, stir, and wipe
- Ability to frequently immerse hands in hot water every 5 minutes
Job Duties
- Maintain a warm, welcoming "Corner Bar" atmosphere
- ID all guests ordering alcoholic beverages who appear 40 years old or younger
- Properly and promptly prepare, garnish, and serve drinks to guests
- Engage with guests by making drinks in front of them using working flair
- Know the menu and make appropriate beverage and food recommendations
- Upsell guests on food or drink items when appropriate
- Keep a clean, organized bar area
- Accurately ring up all orders in the POS system while socializing with guests
- Follow all relevant brand standards for service
- Build guest count by promoting specials and building regular clientele
- Strictly adhere to responsible alcohol service standards and cut off intoxicated guests when necessary
