Job Description
CAMS, a respected member of the Associa family, oversees operations for a variety of premier communities and resorts. One such community is the Blue Ridge Mountain Club, an exclusive private mountain community located in Boone, North Carolina. Known for its stunning mountain vistas, serene natural surroundings, and luxurious amenities, Blue Ridge Mountain Club offers its residents and guests a unique blend of relaxation and recreational opportunities. From hiking trails to social events, the community fosters a welcoming atmosphere that combines the charm of mountain living with the comforts of high-end resort life.
Blue Ridge Mountain Club is currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced bartender to join its team. This role is pivotal in enhancing the guest experience by providing high-quality beverage service in a friendly and professional manner. The position offers a competitive compensation package including a base hourly wage of $17.00 to $19.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips. Notably, the club employs a service charge in lieu of tips, which allows for a higher guaranteed wage; however, patrons may still tip voluntarily, with all tips pooled and distributed evenly among waitstaff who worked during the shift.
The bartender will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to patrons of the bar and restaurant. This includes expert mixing, garnishing, and serving cocktails, as well as presenting a well-planned bar menu that meets the high standards of the club. The role requires excellent knowledge of drink preparation and a commitment to maintaining an organized, clean, and fully stocked bar environment.
In addition to beverage preparation, the bartender is expected to provide excellent customer service by interacting with guests to take orders and assess their preferences, offering recommendations to enhance their experience. The bartender will also ensure compliance with legal age restrictions through careful identification checks.
The position requires someone who can work efficiently and attentively, not only in preparing drinks but also in managing table settings and dining room readiness. This includes clothing tables, setting decorations such as candles and napkins, and replenishing utensils and condiments. Safety and sanitation protocols are a top priority to protect both patrons and the establishment.
Furthermore, effective communication with kitchen staff about meal progression and any special dietary needs of guests is essential for seamless service. The bartender will help create a memorable dining experience by being observant and responsive to the needs of patrons, such as refilling water glasses and promptly addressing any spills.
Concluding the dining experience graciously by thanking patrons and inviting them to return is an important part of the role. Handling payments accurately and efficiently by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, and returning change or cards completes the transaction process.
Overall, this bartender position at Blue Ridge Mountain Club offers a rewarding opportunity for a motivated individual who values excellent guest service and thrives in a dynamic, upscale hospitality environment. The club’s commitment to a higher base wage system alongside tip sharing reflects a progressive approach to employee compensation, intending to attract and retain skilled professionals ready to contribute to a unique mountain community experience.
