Job Description

Humble Spirit is a distinguished wine country restaurant located in the historic downtown area of McMinnville, Oregon. This establishment is renowned for its warm and inviting atmosphere, filled with natural light that creates a welcoming space for both locals and visiting tourists. Humble Spirit offers a unique dining experience centered on food made with heart, where guests can enjoy casual meals or celebrate special occasions. The culinary offerings are deeply inspired by the changing seasons, featuring thoughtfully sourced ingredients, many of which come directly from their own Tabula Rasa Farms and other sustainable and regenerative farms and small-batch craft producers in the Willamette Valley and beyond. The commitment to sustainability and quality sourcing reflects a philosophy of loving intention and respect for the environment, which forms the foundation of the Humble Spirit dining experience. This dedication extends beyond just food, as the restaurant focuses on celebrating the efforts of exceptional local purveyors, enhancing every meal with a connection to the region’s rich agricultural heritage.

Humble Spirit and Tabula Rasa Farms are integral parts of The Ground, a collective of destinations and experiences that embody a philosophy of conscious, loving hospitality in service to all species. Joining this team means becoming part of a larger mission that values sustainability, community, and mindful service. The bartender role at Humble Spirit is crafted for those who seek to create meaningful connections with guests while preparing and serving expertly crafted cocktails and beverages. This position is responsible not only for mixing and serving drinks but also for delivering distinctive, memorable experiences that reflect the restaurant's values and high standards. The ideal candidate is someone who brings charisma, technical skill, and a deep knowledge of beverage service to an atmosphere that is both warm and expertly maintained. They must be adept at interacting with guests, understanding their preferences, and recommending drinks that enhance their experience.

In addition to bartending duties, this role involves maintaining a clean and organized bar space, adhering to all food and beverage regulations, and collaborating with the team to ensure the best possible guest experience. This position requires proficiency with computerized Point of Sale systems, knowledge of liquor laws and regulations, and the ability to use bar equipment skillfully. The role is ideal for someone with at least one year of related education or experience in a similar environment, a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to customer service excellence. Benefits of working with Humble Spirit include paid time off, health, vision, dental, and life insurance, in addition to 401(k) benefits for qualifying employees. Employees also enjoy a 20 percent discount at all Ground entities, including Source Farms, Humble Spirit, and Grounded Body. Joining Humble Spirit means being part of The Ground’s larger vision to harmonize human potential with the planet through hospitality and regenerative practices. The Ground embraces diversity and inclusivity, encouraging applicants even if their experience does not match every qualification perfectly, as they believe in the potential for growth and fit beyond a checklist of skills and experiences.
