As a Bartender for SSP America, you will be responsible for executing various service tasks essential to creating a welcoming and efficient bar and dining experience. Your duties will include processing customer orders accurately using a point of sale (POS) system, handling payments and change, and serving a wide range of beverages and food items. You will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the work area by transferring supplies and equipment as needed, cleaning utensils and equipment, managing trash disposal, and ensuring the overall sanitation of the bar area. This is a dynamic role that requires effective communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and attention to detail.

Ideal candidates will be at least 21 years old with a minimum of one year bartending experience, including certification from state, federal, or local training programs. They should have a solid understanding of food and beverage preparation, especially alcoholic beverages, as well as proficiency in English for both verbal and written communication. Basic math skills are essential to accurately operate cash registers and handle transactions, including making change and managing account totals. Brand certification and ability to operate POS systems efficiently are also required. Job Requirements

  • 21 years old
  • Minimum one year bartending experience required, including certification by state, federal, or local required training program
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages
  • Verbal and written English language
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand weights and measurements
  • Brand certification as required
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check and order and close out a check
  • Ability to work and stand in confined spaces for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system
  • Receive payment from the customer and process change
  • Serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks as well as a wide variety of food items to guests
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
  • Ensure that the work area is clean throughout the day
  • Clean equipment and utensils, remove trash, sweep and mop work area, dust and clean
  • Other duties as assigned
