The role of the Bartender at Grand Beach Hotel is pivotal in enhancing the guest experience by delivering top-tier beverage service with the utmost professionalism and courtesy. As the face of the bar, the bartender is responsible not only for mixing and serving drinks but also for creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages guests to enjoy their stay. The Bartender ensures that all beverage orders are fulfilled accurately and in a timely manner, while adhering strictly to standard operating procedures related to drink portions and responsible alcohol service. This role demands keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage with guests to make personalized recommendations and upsell menu items effectively.

In addition to serving drinks, the Bartender manages all aspects of beverage sales, including proper accounting and record-keeping, using the hotel’s Point of Sales system. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar stations and storeroom is also a crucial part of the job, ensuring safety and efficiency during peak hours. The Bartender plays a key role in upholding the hotel’s policies regarding guest interaction, safety, and workplace conduct, fostering a respectful and positive environment for both guests and team members. This position requires flexibility with scheduling, including working evenings, weekends, and holidays, in line with hotel operations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work late hours
  • Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent
  • Four years work experience interacting with people in a positive environment
  • Understanding of safe alcohol service practices
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Physical ability to lift and move items up to 25lbs

Job Qualifications

  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work late hours
  • Working knowledge of basic food service, responsible alcohol service, drink recipes and garnishes, point of sales systems
  • Four years work experience interacting with people in a positive environment
  • Tolerance of all cultures
  • Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent
  • Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety minded manner

Job Duties

  • Serve food course and alcoholic beverages to guest
  • Suggestively sell beverages and menu items
  • take orders
  • Answer guest questions, make recommendations, up-sell liquors
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
  • Utilize the Point of Sales system to accurately account for and process all orders
  • Request identification from any guest who appears to be under 30 years of age
  • Remove dirty glasses, dishes, including lifting/moving of bus tubs up to 25lbs
  • Keep tables clean at all times
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes at Grand Beach Hotel
  • Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy dictated in the Team Member handbook
  • Reports to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, in accordance with the company's personal appearance standards
  • Applies excellent guest relations skills when interacting with guests
  • Observes hotel telephone etiquette, message, and call handling procedures
  • Special projects and duties as assigned
