Job Description
JW Marriott New Orleans is a distinguished luxury hotel brand under Marriott International, renowned for offering exceptional hospitality experiences in gateway cities and resort destinations worldwide. Positioned in the heart of New Orleans at 614 Canal Street, this iconic hotel combines the vibrant culture of the city with upscale accommodations and superior guest services. JW Marriott is deeply committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace where associates are valued, fostered, and encouraged to grow professionally and personally. Within its luxury collection, JW Marriott emphasizes holistic well-being, innovation, and a sense of community among its team members. The brand honors the legacy of its founder, J. Willard Marriott, ensuring that each associate is part of a globally recognized hospitality leader committed to excellence, diversity, and a welcoming guest environment.
The bartender position at JW Marriott New Orleans is a part-time, non-management role tailored to individuals passionate about delivering memorable and personalized guest experiences beyond just mixing drinks. Bartenders at JW Marriott are more than beverage servers; they are hosts and brand ambassadors who engage with guests, anticipate their needs, and create unique experiences highlighting micro-local trends and offerings. The role requires maintaining impeccable standards at the bar, from crafting high-quality drinks to handling monetary transactions responsibly, all while ensuring a safe and welcoming atmosphere for guests. This position demands physical stamina, as bartenders are on their feet for extended periods and must be capable of lifting, bending, and carrying up to 25 pounds.
This role is ideal for individuals with at least one year of related experience who possess attention to detail, exemplary guest service skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining the bar’s appearance and functionality. The role extends beyond just drink preparation to include building relationships with colleagues across the hotel and within the community to enrich the guest experience. JW Marriott values associates who are not only skilled in bartending but who also demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to safety and company policies. The bartender is pivotal in upholding the JW Treatment™, a commitment to exceptional hospitality that starts with how team members are treated and reflected in how guests are served.
As part of the Marriott portfolio, JW Marriott New Orleans offers associates a chance to grow within a globally recognized brand, participating in training, advancement opportunities, and a supportive work culture that celebrates diversity and inclusivity. This role is part-time and designed for those who thrive in vibrant, luxury hospitality environments and are dedicated to contributing to a positive team dynamic and the memorable experiences JW Marriott aims to deliver to every guest.
